New Zealand has hundreds of food and drink events every year, spread across 16 regions from Northland to Southland. The challenge has always been finding them. Festival dates get announced on Facebook pages, market schedules sit buried in council listings, and some of the best artisan events travel purely by word of mouth.
We track the NZ food scene closely because it’s how we discover new producers and stay connected to what’s happening in regional food culture. That research now lives on a dedicated food and drink events page that anyone can use for free.
What kinds of events are listed?
The calendar covers a wide range of food and drink experiences across the country. Large annual festivals like Visa Wellington On a Plate and the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival sit alongside smaller regional markets, craft beer events, wine tastings, and community harvest days. We add new listings regularly as organisers confirm their dates for the season.
Every event links to its official source so you can check details, buy tickets, and plan ahead.

Why we put this together
We spend a lot of time paying attention to food producers and what’s happening in their communities. Tracking events helps us understand seasonal patterns, regional specialities, and the people behind the products we stock. Sharing that research publicly was a small step from keeping it internal.
If you love food and want to plan a weekend around something worth eating, this is for you.
Are you an event organiser?
We want this to be as comprehensive as possible. If you run a food or drink event anywhere in New Zealand and want it listed, get in touch. There’s no cost. The more events we include, the more useful the calendar becomes for everyone.
