As the Matariki cluster graces our skies, Aotearoa prepares for a truly special time of year. This Māori New Year invites us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with our past, our community, and our hopes for the future. It’s a powerful moment to embrace gratitude and togetherness.
Ahead of Matariki, we are taking a moment to celebrate all of the mahi Māori-owned food and beverage businesses put in to produce world-class kai. We first launched our Kai Māori Gift Box to acknowledge Aotearoa’s first public holiday to celebrate Matariki in 2022.

Supporting Māori Food Producers
Our amazing whānau of suppliers represented in these gift boxes work to create some of the tastiest local goodies. This box directly supports small Māori-owned businesses, plus 1% from the sale of each box is donated to charities such as Ngā Rangatahi Toa or Sustainable Coastlines.
The response has been incredible with your help, we have returned over $60k to these Māori-owned food businesses over the years. This support goes beyond just sales; it’s about recognising and celebrating the incredible contribution these businesses make to our food landscape and our communities. Thanks so much! 🤩
