Meet the team! Nikki Van de Laar — founder and Masterchef at Superseed Crackers! The home of handmade and gently baked crackers containing only organic seeds, nuts, herbs, olive oil and seasoning. They are super healthy and taste amazing.
Here’s Nikki’s story …
Growing up, I always wanted to be a baker, but as I was good at maths and chemistry, I found myself pushed into science. 🧪 My first career was as an analytical chemist, and after 8 years at home as a full-time mum with my kids, I decided it was “now or never” and trained as a chef and pastry chef!
After several years in hospitality working in a variety of kitchens and bakeries, I decided to start my own business teaching cooking classes. They were a lot of fun, but not financially viable!
Then I took this passion for recipe development and made red onion marmalade and garlic aioli, selling my creations at City Market for 7 years.
And in mid-2017 SUPERSEED CRACKERS was born!
I started experimenting with making crackers that were low-carb in an effort to eat healthier and feel better. Pretty quickly friends started wanting to buy the seed crackers from me and suggested I sell them in stores. I approached Commonsense Organics and much to my surprise they were very excited and agreed to stock them! Their support and belief was a pivotal point in the Superseed journey.
My purpose is simple…to create delicious snacks that are healthy too! I am madly passionate about these crackers and it is such a great feeling to see so many of you loving them too!Nikki Van de Laar – founder
